- Julie Sutherland - As State Representative, she has taken the concept of Community Connect to the Australasian Network of Students with Disabilities and will be seeking their feedback in the coming weeks.
- Liz Pannell - A meeting has recently been held with the Flinders Region Area Consultative Committee (FRACC) regarding funding to establish a Community Centre based in Kadina, servicing the entire Yorke Region. She reporting the Yorke District FoCIS Cluster Committee will become incorporated which will allow the Committee to apply for the FRACC funding.
- Lynn Spurling - Lynn shared her frustration in the lack on information currently available to supply to people, particularly those new to the area wanting local information. Matthew highlighted that the reporting function of Community Connect is now available to key stakeholders and that this is being further developed to allow reports to be printed as pdf documents and handed to those seeking information.
Lynn highlighted information brochure she obtained at Burnside Community Library which are divided into specific categories to provide information to the public.
Lynn asked for updated registration forms to be supplied to the Library.
ACTION: Matthew to check whether the on-line registration form is up-to-date. Updated registration forms to be supplied to key stakeholders for their input.
- Kate Martin - Matthew has been interviewed for Gulf FM and an advertisement and media release should appear in this week's YP Country Times. This publicity should start to encourage more members of the public to utilize Community Connect.
School students have been asked to submit a design for a logo for Community Connect. It was suggested these would be judged by the District Superintendent.
Community Connect launch invitations have been sent out.
ACTION: Send to Jane for her suggestions. Check invitation listing for omissions and send further invitations.
It was suggested that some of the computers which will be used in the Career Reference be used to promote Community Connect at the Field Days. Issues with confidentiality and access regarding the use of lap tops.
Lynn suggested supplying blank proformas for visitors to the site to register their details for Community Connect.
ACTION: Kate to organise multiples copies of registration forms to be available at the Field Days site.
Lorraine continues to check and expand data entries on the directory. She will be in place for approximately the next six months. It was agreed that hand over to the best qualified organisations to maintain data would occur towards the end of this time with transition workshops.
- Jill Anderson - Jill had passed on information regarding the District Council of Yorke Peninsula's Disability Discrimination Action Plan which does exist. ACTION: Matthew and Jill to approach committee members asking for more information and support.
- Matthew Smith - Along with Liz, attended a meeting with David Johnston, Chief Information Officer, DHS, to discuss strengthening partnerships between Community Connect and the DHS. Jan Huckel's input was recognised as being instrumental in forging new partnerships with DHS through introductions and follow-up telephone calls.
Currently re-engineering the Community Connect software to allow database search, software search agents and on-screen presentations. This will ensure the software matches other current technologies and aligns with new standards and guidelines for on-line directories.
Will be leading two workshops on Community Connect and Accessible Kiosk technologies at the Australian Web Access Committee Conference in December. This will allow peer review of the software, provide constructive criticism and encourage further brainstorming with other IT specialists..
- Accessibility Focus Forum - 8 December
Will allow community consultation regarding the DDAP but will also encourage networking and presentation between those in attendance.
Matthew requested suggestions to invite contacts to attend and/or present. Liz suggested using mailing list to give and see others' suggestions.
ACTION: Matthew to establish separate mailing list to enable nominations to be sent and seen by entire Committee. Suggestions must be received before the next Committee meeting.

- Liz asked for endorsement from the Committee for her paper which will be submitted to the Department for Human Services (DHS) about Community Connect and associated projects. Endorsed.
- Jane shared the Division of General Practice's funding submission for $385,000 to create a patient identified which gives key organisations access to electronic patient records. Access is provided when the cards belonging to the individual patient and the organisation are paired. Different levels of access is provided to different organisations. Stakeholders in the project include NYP Hospital, Moonta Hospital, Ardrossan Hospital, Newberry Pharmacies, Smart Health.
Jane also shared that the DHS and Commonwealth Government have recognised the importance of networking. She is presenting this week to DHS executives about the strength of networking on Yorke Peninsula.
